Well...When I entered College, my Portuguese teacher told us…“You will write a small book to improve writing…” and I thought, this is very good, I like to write, but I don’t know how to write well, and than I tried and tried…and I’m here, trying to write in English. Oh God! Please! Save the others and us…rs.rs.rs. I have seen a lot of people saying, you have to read a lot to be able to write well, or if you read a lot, your writing will improve more easily… Dear friends, I have something to confess…Until now, I read so few books or articles, I don’t have the habit of reading, but I know, I should read to improve my writing, to improve my ideas to write right in English as well as in Portuguese. For me, writing is a good thing. When I am writing, I can put out all my fantasies, my stories, my desires, or even worst, I’m here trying to say something about the writing and I don’t get to tell what is the point, why is it so important to write right, do you agree whit me? No!...Yes!!!...Well!!!... You are there, in front of this text, trying to understand what I want to say to you, and you are thinking… Does this boy know what he is talking about? He knows how to write right? I think that he is crazy, because he talks and talks, writes and writes, and does not arrive at any place… (go anywhere? arrive at anything?) Yes, you are right… Maybe I don’t know how to write, or maybe I do, I come to this point and you follow me here to know what is to write right to me, and I will say to you…Maybe to write right is this, write a lot without saying anything and telling a lot of things between the lines, only for fun.

I don't write well in English, but I know when a text is well written. I know your blog in Portuguese and I loved the blog in English. You are a great English writer. Sorry if my text in English is bad, but I understand everything that was written by you.
ReplyDeleteWhy write right? I think if we have something to say, we would say in the best way possible. In case of Letters’s students it becomes “imperative”. But OK, I understand the view about writing for fun and I really think that it’s a nice way to start. I'm still trying to find a way ....
